The Graduates Preparatory Program is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning, and meaningful participation in the workforce, governance and civic life. Recognizing that many young graduates face challenges entering professional environments, Nabaad created this program to equip youth with the skills, knowledge and confidence necessary to become active contributors to social transformation, economic development and good governance. The program objectives including strengthening professional, leadership and soft skills among graduates, preparing young professionals for active engagement in governance, civil society and community development initiatives, and fostering entrepreneurship, innovation and economic self-reliance.
The program combines mentorship, internships, workshops and skills-building sessions that focus on leadership, project management, civic engagement, critical thinking, and communication skills. Participants also meets experts with diverse backgrounds and gains exposure to policy processes, organizational management and community engagement strategies, enabling them to apply theoretical knowledge in practical settings.
Graduates of the program are equipped to secure job opportunities, assume leadership roles, and contribute to inclusive development agenda. This program contributes to cross-cutting areas; reducing unemployment rate as it designed to equip young graduates with soft skills to navigate in the job market, and peace building and preventing violent extremism through empowering youth with skills, confidence and civic responsibility, to driver positive change across Somalia.
The program combines formal training sessions, participatory workshops, role-playing exercises, and peer-to-peer learning, and participants are introduced to concepts such as conflict analysis, negotiation techniques, human rights, democratic participation and social cohesion. Emphasis is placed on practical application, encouraging participants to design community-level peace initiatives.
Graduates of the Peace Education Training are expected to become peace ambassadors, capable of mediating conflicts, promoting dialogue and strengthening social cohesion in their communities. The program contributes to reducing tensions, enhancing civic engagement and building a culture of peace that underpins sustainable development in Somalia.
